Cortney Baylor

Five years ago, Cortney was an atheist with no interest in faith or religion. She was simply on a pursuit for truth. Fast forward to today and she’s one of the best bringers we have at Mosaic.

Cortney works as a hair stylist and uses nearly every opportunity she has to talk to people about her faith in Jesus. In her pursuit of truth, she was captivated by the Bible and now, she takes its truth to everyone she knows. In her opinion, she has unlimited potential through her business to reach more people with the hope of Jesus than she ever thought possible. She’s seen God open more doors and create more fruitful conversations about faith than she could have ever imagined.

Cortney has brought so many people to Mosaic’s “Black Tent” that we’ve joked about making her a punch-card. God is using her to help redeem the people around her at work and in her community as she takes a risk and invites. However, there’s one group of people that Cortney has struggled to reach.

For years, Cortney’s family has avoided church and avoided her whenever she talked about it. They were skeptical of her faith and didn’t have an interest in following Jesus. That was the case for years until Cortney’s sister passed away early in 2024.

In their confusion, her family started to question Cortney about her faith as they pursued the truth on their own. Those conversations led to her family checking out Mosaic and starting to explore faith.

Even though they haven’t come back or started following Jesus, Cortney’s excited to have Gospel-centered conversations with her family and can’t wait to see how God uses the pain they all experienced as a path to bring them to Jesus.
